2017 Vintage Comment…

2017 is certainly a good Vintage but it is not a great one: it does not have the excellence of the 2016’s or the overall ripeness of the 2015’s but the wines have structure and complexity. Looking through my tasting notes, I have described many as dense and brooding and found plenty of fruit together with some wonderful finishes.

I am as always fairly selective so this years’ Offer concentrates on those wines that I believe may provide the balance between quality and price worth recommending to customers. This list is not exclusive but I have been very impressed by the following and hope that they will fulfil the criteria :

  • Echo de Lynch Bages
  • Chateau Lynch Bages
  • Chateau Grand Puy Lacoste
  • Chateau Leoville Barton
  • Chateau Malescot St Exupery

and finally, Chateau Cissac is always on my highly-recommended list because of its superb value.
